Complete source-backed product details
When slipped on the end of a crankshaft, these specially designed sockets let you use a 1/2 inch drive ratchet or breaker bar to rotate the engine assembly. Our sockets also have the unique feature of a provision to hold our degree wheels or any wheel with a 1 inch or larger center hole. The knurled retaining nut actually sandwiches the degree wheel and holds it in place. This can then be loosened while on the crank snout so that you can turn the degree wheel independent of the engine, which is really handy when finding TDC.

This tool Works excellent able to rotate crankshaft tool fits snug. Has two different keyway sizes used on a small block Ford, worked absolutely perfect. And the ability to hold degree wheel excellent.

Might work on later Buick V8s, but not Nail Heads
P. S. –
The picture says it all. First use, split the square drive end and smeared the woodruff key into the socket and now it won’t come off and the engine is effectively worthless now.Second one I’ve owned, the first one was a little better.

Its a great Comp cams made product! That fits the crankshaft snout of my 385 series crankshafts very nicely. Just as intended. It slides right on the crankshaft and has a small setscrew to help take up any possible slack. It features two key ways one wide and one narrow. This is heavy steel and well machined. It will last a long time.
