After searching for a new TCI box for my 1981 Virago and finding little success, I purchased this knowing the wiring should be similar between the models. Using the pin out above, I can say this box with work with 1981 models. It will not be a direct replacement. I cut the harness off of my original box and crimped terminal connectors on it (I will be looking for a plug in the future). Mounting will also be different from the original. I plan on making a mounting plate for this box (and added voltage stabilizer) and bolting that to the original frame tabs.
