The Cliffster –
Ok so here’s the deal. Very good Idea but the Amazon website doesn’t mention that it only fits 69 and up GM cars. In fact, I called up Flaming River and there tech told me about the fitment years but even on there website, no years were listed…Until I called. Next day the info was there. Now this is a great piece for installing 2″ Steering columns on GM cars using the original mounting bracket, but for 68 and older, you will have to weld on similar brackets found on the original column. Hope they will come out with a pre 69 adapter. Because is is of good quality.
Customer –
Does the job to adapt my new 2″ steering column to the existing bracket under the dash, without using a drop mount. At first I thought it wasn’t going to work, as many reviews say it’s not laid out properly, but it’s directional. Flipping it around made the mounting holes line up just right. The vehicle is a 1964 Chevy C-10, but the previous owner made some modifications using parts from a 1985 truck, so I’m not sure if this solution will work for everyone.
