Would be more stars if it came with instructions. Finally got my 2nd broken 9-5 OEM SAAB flasher switch fixed using this – originals failed due to the classic breaking of the plastic at the switch’s ring in front of the through dash hole. This Swedish Car Parts Hazard Flasher Housing shows up as a part without instructions. Taking apart the old switch for salvage is not straight forward and may be downright dangerous – proceed at your own risk. So first the good news – the metal retaining prongs on the outside of the broken original come off by sliding them down towards the electrical connector at the rear of the switch. Bend up the little tab a bit to make this easier. Getting the prongs off is not that bad. However, to get the innards of the switch out, I used a Dremel with a cutter to carefully cut away the plastic housing and free the switch components. The potential for cutting them or yourself up is not to be taken lightly. Be careful. Reinstall these in this new housing, add the prongs and you are good to go. Hopefully there is an easier way than the Dremel cutter, I just couldn’t figure it out. Some clear directions from the manufacturer would have been great. Fingers crossed that the resin used in this part holds up better than the orignal’s that need replacement every couple years – it seems to be a different composition.

Like the other reviewer mentioned, this product does not ship with any instructions. But it is fairly straightforward to use a dremel and a cutting wheel to cut open the old hazzaard switch housing to remove the switch mechanism and to extract the metal clips. Reassembly takes 30 seconds and the plastic used in this housing seems much sturdier than the original.
