I bought this product in hopes of it fixing a “no start” condition when cold, using the electric starter. (’03 KTM 525 EXC) My bike would start with the kick start cold and with the E-start when warm, but cold, it would just crank and crank till the battery went dead. Yes, this kit did solve the problem. The bike fires right up cold with a push of the button.Installation was very easy. The only issues were: The instruction sheet could have been more clear, I had to read it a couple times to make sence of the wiring modification, and once once the wiring was done, you end up with a lot more wire than stock, to pack into a very small space. It is doable though. The stator itself looks much beefier and better than the stock one. I would have liked to see the regulator mounted in the back corner of the air box the way the “trick duel sport” kit does it, (looks like the same basic regulator) this would clean up the wiring under the tank. Overall, a nice kit, and yes, I would buy it again.

Great product, but I was sent the wrong part number for my bike. I had to call trail tech and order a missing jumper cable for my 07 450exc. Without that plug, this product will not adapt. I paid shipping and the great customer service at trailtech sent the part right away. So far everything works great.

Replaced the other brand rewound stator and regulator that was in my KTM 450EXC that died on a back roads/woods trip. The TrailTech stator and regulator is putting out better and more stable power. I monitor my charging system with a Datel meter to keep track of things. Running an all LED lighting system keeps the load very low on the system and lets me run heated grips with no issues.I didn’t have to use the switched output from the regulator – and used my own connector since my 2006 KTM 450EXC has been fully DC converted.

Pretty easy installation and works just great

This is the ticket if your stator is dying or if you need more power for lights/accessories. This does convert you to DC only, though.

This review is for the Trail Tech 100W stator kit, SR-8310, for a KTM 525 EXC. This is a good upgrade for increased power output to keep the battery charged on e-start bikes especially at low RPMs. It also converts the system to DC which is good for LED aux lighting and GPS/USB/phone power. Included wiring is intended to mount the rectifier under the tank. That’s not ideal due to a tight fit and engine heat, so I added a few longer wires and mounted the rectifier to the aluminum frame under the seat in the airbox. That way it heat-sinks into the frame on the back side and gets good air flow on the other finned side.
